Sourcing

This page takes you through the correct Sourcing Business Model steps for this stage of the procurement process. This is essentially a stage where professional buyers assess and identify potential suppliers.

Having a tender checklist means that you won’t miss any steps by accident. Even if you have run countless tenders there can always be the one thing that you might have forgotten to do and it doesn’t have to be a mistake if you use a check list for every project.

Determine the route to market, how will the tender opportunity be advertised. For public sector contracts consider the relevant thresholds

Tenders can range from basic to complex but the main outline remains the same. A weighted percentage for the technical part and a weighted section for commercial. Common weightings might be 60:40, 70:30 or even 80:20 but you should decide based on each individual project.

Sourcing Milestones

•[A project objective is a statement that describes the “what” of your project. The tangible and measurable “what”. The “what” that’s achievable, realistic, and can be completed within the time allowed. These statements ladder up to the goals of the project, providing stepping stones to success]

•The scope is simply all the work that needs to be done in order to achieve a project’s objectives. In other words, the scope involves the process of identifying and documenting specific project goals, outcomes, milestones, tasks, costs, and timeline dates specific to the project objectives
